July 2026 – Kenya. What a competition! Both our Girls and Boys teams of GSSA made it to the regional finals of the Kenyan National Volleyball Tournament – Junior Secondary School category! Both teams gave their tremendous effort this year, practicing and enjoying the fun of the game. Last year, we missed national championship by a whisker. This time round, we aimed at becoming the best school in the whole country in volleyball ball junior secondary school.
The games are organized all the way from grassroots to the continental regional levels. Kenya is divided in 7 regions:
– Nairobi
– Coast
– Rift Valley
– Eastern
– Western
– North Eastern
– Nyanza
Champions in each region compete at the national level. School teams keep on qualifying until the next level, and so on. That’s from Cluster to Zone to Sub-County to County to National and all the way to the East Africa region.
The competition brings together the private schools and government sponsored schools. Both girls and and boys emerged winners at both Cluster and Sub-county level . The schools we competed with are ranked very high. And the Boys team did it one step further and became County level champions, representing the Nairobi region and advancing next to the National finals! Congratulations to all our athletes.
